John Mitchels senior team have reclaimed the senior championship after a breathtaking win in extra time.
Mitchels win saw them lift the senior title for the first time since 2009 and also denied Harps a record 5 in a row.
Mitchels were the better team in normal time and having led by 4 points with 60 minutes played, let harps back into it with four unanswered points in 8 minutes of injury time.
Extra time was a very tight affair but Harps looked to have the title in the bag by taking a two point lead with just a minute of the extra 20 to be played. But the Mitchels never say die attitude shown through when with just 30 second left a long ball to the edge of the square was punched to the net by Garret Halligan to send the Mitchels players, management and supporters wild.
We would like to express our thanks to Team management Dave Munnelly and Niall McCrelly for all their hard work all year, and to team sponsors Shamrock civil and Vinny Campbell for their support throughout the year.
