John Mitchels GFC
John Mitchels Gaelic Football Club (JMGFC) is a very successful Gaelic Football Club located in Toowong in Brisbane, Queensland. Season 2011 once again saw all 3 teams make it through to the Grand Final. For the first time in the history of QLD GAA the JMGFC Ladies football team won the Queensland Championship.
The JMGFC Reserves Men's team also played brilliantly to win the Reserves competition. The Senior Men, Reserves Men and Ladies team also won the Brisbane League, topping the table in all divisions.
JMGFC is proudly sponsored by Vinny Campbell Electrical and by Irish Murphys Pub. We are always on the look out for new players, both Irish, Australian and anyone who is interested in playing Gaelic Football. Whether you have played or not or are just looking to meet a great group of people you are welcome to be apart of our club.
JMGFC not only has an impact on the field it also plays a big part in the Brisbane social scene. The club holds many events throughout the year including pub crawls and international beer nights to raise money for the club. Queensland hosted the 2011 Australasian Championships. JMGFC had over 20 members represented in the Queensland Ladies, Camogie and Senior men football in both a playing and managing capacity. The Queensland Ladies, Camogie and Hurling took out the Australasian championships in thrilling finals.
